Intimacy with Jesus 1

The most important thing for us, in our relationship with God, in our relationship to others, to our own health and well being and advancement as human beings, is incredible intimacy with Jesus's Spirit. This is everything to us. There are a ton of verbal and written products (for lack of a better term) on how to be more spiritual and feel more advanced and more elated through life by a connection to God. Nothing replaces worship. Nothing. True, we do a wonderful work for God in helping and serving others, but this is the second great commandment. The first, is to worship the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. (Mark 12:30-31) And nothing can replace us worshipping him with all of us like falling madly, deeply, passionately in love with Jesus Christ. Desiring Jesus is the central thing to our hearts. Even if we do not recognize it.

Today, break away from the noise for a short time and get close to God. Feel God's pleasure in you and worship him in his joy and love for you. You are God's beloved! Live it! Let that knowledge permeate your life and be free from this world. As God's own, we are free to live; we have free hearts. And others need to see that in us. Jesus said you do not put a lamp under the bed for no one to see, but you put it on its stand. We are on the stand. Even if no one we know is watching, the angels are and they are taking notes (1 Peter 1:12). We have this beautiful, incredible God that is inside us; before our core he is bare and he desires us. He wants us to crave him, to pursue him, to desire him, to daydream about him. So many times we can let church on Sundays interrupt us and our search for true intimacy with God (or it can strengthen us); or sometimes we settle for worship that could be better. Don't ever settle in this relationship. Not with God. Not with anyone. We have too much to gain in his heart and his beauty and too much to lose of ourselves and of others. Today, daydream of being with him. Imagine life when Jesus is walking among us. It's 100 degrees outside today; if Jesus was here, he'd probably say we should go swimming with him. Imagine being with him. Hope for him! Live for him! He is our desire, our God, our everything.
